Accreditation

Holy Family University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and undergoes periodic reviews to maintain its accreditation. The latest MSCHE reaffirmation self-study was conducted in 2020, and the MSCHE Committee conducted a site visit in the spring of 2021.

Holy Family University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is approved by the PA State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).*

Working under the supervision of a licensed registered nurse preceptor during your clinical rotations, you’ll practice what you learned in the online classroom. Clinicals are very similar to an internship or being an apprentice; you provide care for real patients while benefiting from the supervision and guidance of your preceptor. Additionally, Holy Family University faculty will direct and evaluate the clinical experience providing support to both you and your preceptor.

Our clinical placement team works closely with you to ensure your rotations meet University and national guidelines. You’ll work with a dedicated Holy Family University Placement Coordinator who will walk you through the process and be your primary point of contact for placement logistics. Based on the program’s requirements and where you live, your Placement Coordinator will identify an appropriate site and preceptor for you within your community.

Throughout the program and through to graduation, you’ll be in close communication with your Placement Coordinator who will prepare you for clinicals by ensuring you complete all requirements and meet deadlines, answering your questions, verifying your clearance requirements, and walking you through the nursing clinicals checklist.

All clinical experiences are slightly different because students work in various healthcare environments. During clinical rotations, you will be under the close supervision of your preceptor and the indirect supervision of Holy Family clinical faculty. You’ll have specific instructions to follow while keeping clinical practice guidelines in mind.

The BSN program is approved by the PA State Board of Nursing. Holy Family University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and undergoes periodic reviews to maintain its accreditation.

How long will it take for me to complete Holy Family’s online ABSN program?

Our program is more accelerated than our competitors. This 14-month online program requires 59 credit hours of coursework (Synchronous and Asyncronous sessions) and 504 clinical hours. Students should not expect to work during this rigorous, full-time study.  

How much does Holy Family’s online ABSN program cost?

Our online ABSN program is priced very competitively at $800 per credit hour (plus fees).
