Help Nurses Succeed

Holy Family University provides a first-class education. Our online ABSN program is mission-driven and develops holistically trained nurses with the knowledge and leadership skills to advance the profession and manage care for patients across the lifespan.

If you are passionate about caring for people and want to precept and empower nursing professionals to reach their full potential, Holy Family University preceptor opportunities can be the pathway to giving back to the profession of nursing. Holy family is looking for Registered Nurses (BSN preferred) with at least 1 year of professional work experience to be preceptors for our students.

    Why Become a Preceptor?

Precepting is your opportunity to shape a new generation of nurses and influence real change in health care. Holy Family University students are educated to assume lifelong responsibilities toward God, society, and self, so you can trust them to provide exceptional care for your patients.

    The benefits of precepting include:

    • Helping nurses achieve professional growth. You can share your valuable knowledge and expertise as you guide students through real-life learning opportunities.
    • Reinforcing and strengthening your knowledge. Students learn current clinical best practices, so knowledge-sharing is often a two-way street.
    • Enjoying the satisfaction of “paying it forward.” Giving back to the profession in which you received mentorship when you were a student can be very satisfying.

    Second Degree Distance Hybrid BSN

Holy Family University’s Second Degree Distance Hybrid Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Accelerated BSN online) is designed to prepare students for nursing licensure in just over a year through an immersive, hybrid program. The coursework is 100% online. A week-long campus residency in the first semester builds hands-on clinical skills in our high-tech simulation lab and provides opportunities for students to demonstrate competencies and collaborate with faculty and students.

Holy Family’s ABSN nursing students must complete 504 clinical rotation hours. As a preceptor, you can support students from 36 clinical rotation hours up to 144 clinical rotation hours, depending on the course.
