Why did you pick an Accelerated BSN?

Having already completed a bachelor's degree in English Language and an MBA in Healthcare Administration, I developed foundational academic skills, including critical thinking, research, and disciplined study habits. I chose the Accelerated BSN (ABSN) program because it offers an intensive, focused pathway to enter the nursing profession byleveragingmy prior education. This route allows me to transition efficiently into my chosen career path.

The ABSN differs significantly from my first degree in its singular focus and clinical application. While myinitialdegree provided a broader liberal and business education, the ABSN curriculumis specifically designedto impart essential nursing theory, psychomotor skills, and clinical reasoning at a rigorous pace, directly preparing me for the complexities of patient care. The integration of theoretical coursework with concurrent clinical practice is a key differentiator, demanding the immediate application of knowledge.

The structure of the ABSN program, combining the flexibility of online coursework with essential hands-on campus residencies and diverse clinical placements within my hometown’s healthcare systems, presented an ideal learning model. Furthermore, the university's Christian foundation aligns with my personal philosophy of nursing and my desire to be actively involved in serving others.

This intensive, in-person experience allowed for deeper connections with faculty members and fostered collaboration with peers. The residency strengthened teamwork and communication skills essential for the clinical environment. Asanticipated, this immersive experience played a significant role in preparing me for clinical rotations, building the confidence and foundational competencerequiredto transition smoothly and effectively into real-world patient care.

What do you hope to do after graduation?

Upon graduation, my immediate goal is to successfully pass the NCLEX-RN examination and obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse. Following this, I aim to secure a position within a challenging and supportive healthcare setting—likely ahospital—to build a robust clinical foundation and gain diverse patient care experience. While I am eager to explore various nursing specialties throughout my career, I am particularly interested in Nursing Informatics.

Ultimately, Iaspire to be a compassionate, competent, and evidence-based practitioner committed to lifelong learning, with aspirations to pursue advanced certification or education in the future.
